Add pages to Whimsical files

You can now add multiple pages to your files in Whimsical. Each page gets its own tab on top of the content for easy access. Use pages to combine Boards, Docs as well as folders.

Multi-page files replace the prior tabbed folders feature, offering similar functionality in a more convenient way. If you've created tabbed folders before, they will get automatically converted to a file with multiple pages.

Expand nested files and folders in Docs

Boards, Docs and folders nested in another Doc can now be expanded inline for quick access to content. This also works hierarchically up to 3 levels deep.

Search sidebar

Search now lives in a persistent sidebar. Open it with Cmd+J (Mac) or Ctrl+J (PC) for global workspace search or Cmd+F (Mac) or Ctrl+F (PC) for file search. Pick results with mouse or arrow keys and dismiss search with Esc.

Other improvements and fixes

• Hovering over tabs in the desktop app now shows a quick preview of what's inside.
• You can now crop images directly in docs and comments.
• XS size is now available for all board objects that support text input.
• MCP now supports moving files within your workspace.
• You can also now use MCP to find files by their creation or modification date, including within a specific date range.
• MCP can now read Whimsical links directly, including links to a specific doc block, board object, or area of a board.
• Press Esc while moving, resizing, or dragging objects on a board to cancel the action and return everything to where it was.
• Sticky notes now support the full color palette.
• Board SVG exports now support dark mode.
• You’ll now see a banner to reconnect your Linear integration if its authorization expires.
• Fixed connectors occasionally becoming detached from objects after undo.
• Pasted images that are narrower than your doc’s text width now align left instead of stretching to fill the page.
