How to copy from FigJam to WhimsicalCopied!Link to this section

There is no export file, import step, or plugin. Copy the content in FigJam. Paste it in Whimsical.

1. Open your FigJam board. Select the content you want to move. You can select all the content, a single object, a whole frame, or a mixed selection.
2. Copy the selection: Cmd + C (Mac) or Ctrl + C (PC).
3. Open a Whimsical board. Paste the selection: Cmd + V (Mac) or Ctrl + V (PC).

Whimsical rebuilds each FigJam object as its closest Whimsical equivalent. It keeps the object's position, size, rotation, and nesting.

Every pasted object is editable in Whimsical. You can change the text, change the color, move the object, and connect it to something new.

LimitationsCopied!Link to this section

Some things behave differently. None of them break your board.

• Other library icons become placeholders. A FigJam icon from a library other than AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud arrives as a rectangle with a caption.
• Images without usable pixels are skipped. Whimsical skips a broken or empty image instead of pasting it.
• Unsupported widgets are skipped. In a mixed selection, Whimsical skips a widget it does not support and keeps the rest of your paste.
• Custom fonts are not carried over. Whimsical does not support custom fonts, so your text displays in Whimsical's Dinsical font.
• There is a size limit per paste. A single paste handles up to 2,000 objects, and tables up to 2,000 cells.

• Work frame by frame. This keeps each paste well under the limits and lets you check the result as you go.
• Paste into a new Whimsical board first. Your existing work stays untouched while you try it.
