1. Open your mural and select what you want to bring over.
2. Copy it with Cmd + C (Mac) or Ctrl + C (PC).
3. Open a Whimsical board and paste with Cmd + V (Mac) or Ctrl + V (PC).

• Shapes, including rectangles, ellipses, diamonds, triangles, hexagons, parallelograms, trapezoids, cylinders, clouds, stars and braces
• Sticky notes, in their Mural colors
• Text boxes. A text box with a fill or border becomes a rectangle.
• Speech bubbles, which become Whimsical annotations
• Arrows, which become connectors that stay attached to their shapes and keep their labels
• Tables, as editable Whimsical tables with their merged and colored cells. A table that holds sticky notes or other objects, as many Mural templates do, becomes a grid of sections holding them.

LimitationsCopied!Link to this section

• Photos, files and GIFs don't come across. Mural only copies links to them, which work only for signed-in Mural users, so they're skipped and the rest of your selection pastes.
• Some shapes. Shapes without a Whimsical match keep their text and color but become rectangles. Octagons and pentagons become hexagons.
• Colors are matched, not copied exactly. Mind map branch colors aren't kept, since Whimsical mind maps use their own. You can update your color theme to match your brand.
• Fonts aren't carried over. Text is shown in our Dinsical font.
• Shapes snap to the nearest right angle. Text and sticky notes paste upright.
• Sticky note authors and comments stay behind.

• Work area by area so it's easy to check the result as you go.
• Paste into a fresh Whimsical board first while you get a feel for it.
• If you see Couldn't paste selection, check that your selection includes more than photos or files, or try copying fewer objects at a time.
